Mrs. Janie (Newman) Prestridge

February 10, 1952 - May 31, 2016

Janie Newman Prestridge, 64, of Fairfield, left this world to take her place in 
Heaven on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

Janie was born February 10, 1952 in Fairfield to parents Dawson and Dorothy Davis 
Newman.  She was a graduate of Neches High School.  She was employed at Fairfield 
Hospital, ETMC-Fairfield and ETMC-Athens for over 30 years.  Her greatest joy in 
life was spending time and playing with her great nephew and great-nieces, Alan, 
Christal and Brandy Neal.  Although she had no children of her own, she loved 
kids and they loved her.  Two that was very special to her, then and now, Kevin 
and Brandon Fincher.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Will and 
Ellen Davis; Sterling and Agnes Newman; her father, Dawson Newman; a brother, 
Alan Petri; a brother-in-law, Gus Steiner; an infant brother and a niece Brett 
Steiner.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Dorothy Petri of Fairfield; step-father, 
Frank Petri of Jacksonville, TX; a sister, Susan Steiner of Fairfield; a brother, 
Michael Petri and wife Nelda of Richmond, TX; a niece, Chelsea Steiner of Athens, 
TX; nephews, Joshua Petri and wife Amber of Cypress, TX; Jacob Petri and wife 
Gabrielle of Pert, TX; Jeremy Petri and wife Jeanne of Clarksville, TX; numerous 
great nieces and great nephews, many cousins and close friends.
