Mary Elizabeth (Mathison) Price

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Price, 78, of Wortham, will be held
this afternoon at 1 o'clock in First Baptist Church of Wortham. Officiating
will be the Rev. Steven Schulte, pastor. Burial will be in Wortham Cemetery,
under direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Mrs. Price, a member of Wortham First Baptist Church, had been a Bookkeeper for
D.P. Frost for over 20 years. She retired as Bookkeeper with SESCO in Mexia, in
1987.

Mrs. Price, who had resided for most of her life in Wortham, was born June 26,
1925, in the Rushing community of Navarro County. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Robert James Price, Jr., who died in 1993; by her parents -
William A. and Effie Elizabeth Mathison; by two sisters, Iona and Inez Garner;
and by a brother, Marion Mathison.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Alice Price of Wortham; a
daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Mike Batts of Wortham; a brother, Henry Lee
Mathison of Bastrop; four grandchildren - Rodney Price, Jack Price, Scott Batts
and Teresa Pena, and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Scott Keeling, Arthur Busby, Jr., Owen Morgan, John Stubbs,
Ricky Kovar and Kelly Craig.
