Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder June 2008 Doris LaRue (Maddox) Prosse Private memorial services will be held for Doris LaRue Prosse, 80, of Teague who died Monday, June 23, at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. Mrs. Prosse was born in Houston on January 26, 1928 to Jess Odell and Doris Maddox. Throughout her career she worked in advertising for Leon's and Cinderella's Boutique in Waco and reitred from Sears and Robuck as an ad manager. Mrs. Prosse was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfield. She was also an artist and member the National Art Guild and had served as president for the Freestone County Art League. Mrs. Prosse's body will be cremated and her ashes scattered during a private memorial service. She is survived by her sister Leah Stephens of Teague; sister-in-law Gerri Maddox of Splendora; uncle William R. Roane of Teague; niece Robin Maddox of Splendora, Patty Smith of Teague and Pamela Chavez and husband Edwin of Humble; nephews Danny Goodwin of Cherryville, Missouri, Jerry D. Maddox of Spring and Stephen R. Goodwin and wife Terri of Teague; and her beloved pets, her English bulldog, Bo Duke & collie mix, Mollie. Mrs. Prosser is preceded in death by her parents Jess Odell and Doris Maddox, her husband Robert A. Prosser, brother Jerry D. Maddox; nephews Sammy L. and Johnny Goodwin; and niece Teresa McCain.
