Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder February 09, 2008 Arthur Lee Pruitt Funeral services were held last weekend for Arthur Lee Pruitt, 86, of Buffalo who died Tuesday, Jan. 29 at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. Mr. Pruitt was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on Nov. 8, 1921 to parents Johnny Lee and Vera Toone Pruitt. He served in the United States Army and owned and operated Pruitt’s Cleaners. Mr. Pruitt was also a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bovina. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Bethel Baptist Church with Larry Morris officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony Kelso, Troy Kelso, Kevin Kelso, Gene Pruitt, Tommy Davis and Cory Cunningham. Mr. Pruitt is survived by son Gene Pruitt and wife Darla of Buffalo; daughter Brenda Kelso and husband Tally of Llano; grandsons Tony Kelso and wife Colette, Troy Kelso and wife Gennie, Kevin Kelso and wife Cristy, and Gene Pruitt, Jr. and wife Leah; brothers Prentis Pruitt and wife Sherlynn of Bovina, and Billy Pruitt and wife Janet of New Port, Oregon; sisters Margie Robinett and husband Donald of Kerrville, “Mag” Skinner of Springfield, Oregon, and Sally Radford of Buffalo, Oklahoma; and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by wife Rosie Marie Pruitt and parents Johnny and Vera Pruitt. He was 86 years old. Mr. Pruitt was born on November 8, 1921, in Idabel, Oklahoma, to Johnny Lee and Vera Toone Pruitt. He was retired owner-operator of Pruitt’s Cleaners and served in the United States Army, American Asiatic and Pacific Theaters. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bovina, Texas. Funeral services for Mr. Pruitt were held on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Bethel Baptist Church with interment following at Oakwood Cemetery in Oakwood, Texas. Larry Morris officiated the services.
