Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield. Arrangements by Capps Memorial Chapel, Fairfield. ------------------------------------------------------------- Fairfield Recorder - May 18, 2006 edition Donald Pruitt Donald Pruitt of Fairfield died Friday in Fairfield at the age of 82. During his lifetime, Mr. Pruitt pastored at many churches in Texas but specifically Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield from 1974 to 1987 and Calvary Baptist Church Centerville from 1988 to 2000. Born December 10, 1923 in Bronte, Mr. Pruitt was a veteran of the Army Air Corp and served in the Korean War. He was licensed to preach on September 21, 1952 and was married for 63 years to Nora Taylor Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt was on the board of directors at Jacksonville College in Jacksonville and served on the board of directors BMA of America. Funeral services were held Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield with Rev. Chris McCalman officiating. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery. Surviving Mr. Pruitt are his wife Nora Pruitt of Fairfield; mother Ella Warner Pruitt of Bronte; daughters Cynthia Pruitt of Fairfield, Carolyn Pruitt of Denver, Colorado and Janis McCalman and Joe of Cypress; brothers Noah L. Pruitt, Jr. and Dorthey of Bronte and Dwain Pruitt and Bernice of Bronte and sister Maxine Labenske and Bill of Bronte. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rev. Chris McCalman of Anson and Laura McCalman Shipp and John of Silver City, New Mexico and great grandchildren Brittany Denise Shipp and Michael Allen Shipp. He was preceded in death by his father Noah L. Pruitt, Sr. Arrangements were by Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.
