Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Malakoff News of Malakoff, Henderson Co., TX Friday, Jan. 7, 1938 Front Page Funeral Services Held Monday At Mankin For Dr. Pulley Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the community cemetery at Mankin, for Dr. L. W. Pulley, 62, well-known Trinidad phyiscian, who died at an early hour Sunday morning at the Timberlawn Hospital in Dallas. The Dr. had been ill for several weeks and was removed to the Dallas hospital shortly before Christmas. His death there it was said, was due to a heart attack. His remains were brought overland to Malakoff Sunday in the ambulance from the Ballard Funeral Home and was prepared for burial in the palors here before being taken to the Pulley home at Trinidad about noon. The funeral services, held at the cemetery, were conducted by Rev. B. A. Watson of Houston, former Methodist pastor at Trinidad. The services were held at 2:00 o'clock. Dr. Pulley was a native Texas, born in Freestone county. He spent the greater part of his life, however, in this county. He moved to Trinidad shortly after the turn of the century, where he began his practice of medicine. He also was engaged in the drug business in that city. He was a member of the Methodist church and he also held membership in the state and county medical societies. The deceased was twice married and is survived by a son, Ansel Pulley, by his first wife; four brothers, Will of Trinidad; Dean of Ranger; Moody of Louisana; Mulkey of Eustace and two sisters: Mrs. Ella Cain of Payne Springs community and Mrs. Doug Gilliam of Athens.
