ANNIE LOU RANKIN

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lou (Isham) Rankin, 88, were held on Saturday, 
December 12, 2009, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Darrel Beggs officiated. 
Interment followed the services at Salem Cemetery near Freestone.

Annie was born on January 1, 1921, in Freestone to Luther and Mattie Isham and 
grew up there. She married in Headlee Rankin in 1936 and shared almost fifty
years together before being separated by his death. Mrs. Rankin worked for the 
Teague Nursing Home for several years, but her main job was being a dedicated 
wife and homemaker for her family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and making
quilts and loved her cats and fish. Mrs. Rankin passed away on Thursday,
December 10, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center in Athens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, 
Christina Rankin; one grandson, Bryan Brown; and her special friend, Cater 
Kennedy.

Mrs. Rankin is survived by one son, Doyle Rankin and wife Laurie of Teague; 
one grandson, Billy Brown and wife Laurie of Abbott; one granddaughter, Vikki 
Brown of Teague; four great-grandchildren, Chandler Brown, McKenzie Brown, 
Christopher Brown, and Brandan Brown; two brothers, Dewey (Buddy) Isham and 
wife Vera of Amarillo and George (Buck) Isham and wife Dorothy of Phoenix, 
Arizona; one sister, Clytee Wanek of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, 
and friends.
