Mexia Daily News - Jan. 6, 2005 edition Lester Ransom FAIRFIELD - Funeral services for Lester Ransom, 94, of Fairfield, will be conducted Saturday at noon in Fairfield Baptist Church, 326 Huckaby Street. The Rev. A.L. Thibodeaux, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Baptist Cemetery, under direction of Moore's Angelic Funeral Home of Teague. Visitation and prayer service with family are scheduled for Friday night from 7 until 9 o'clock in Fairfield Baptist Church. Mr. Ransom, who died Jan. 1 in Corsicana, was born Aug. 13, 1910, in Freestone County. He had been a maintenance worker for Stroud Ford Company of Fairfield, and also was owner/operator of Ransom's Gas Station. Mr. Ransom was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons, James L. Ransom of Fairfield, Kinsley Stradford of Fort Worth, Randolph Stradford of Garland, and Boyd Stradford of Dallas; six daughters, Eula Mae Hatcher of Fairfield, Pearl Jesse of Fort Worth, Modine Betts, Willie Jean Crawford, Yvonne Gibson and Joyce Polk, all of Dallas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Ronnie Ransom, Joey Ransom, Walter Ray Ransom, Fred Anderson, James Johnson and John Mims.
