Fairfield Recorder, Fairfield Texas Friday, Feb. 27, 1925 MR. JAMES F. REED DIES FROM ILLNESS FOLLOWING ATTACK OF FLU James F. Reed, Age 49, died at his home a few miles northwest of Fairfield last Friday afternoon. Mr. Reed had been up from an attack of flu a few days before he was stricken with the illness that caused his death. On Tuesday night he was taken sick again and he rapidly grew worse inspite of every effort, death occuring about 4 in the afternoon and was reported to have been caused by pneumonia. His remains were interned in the Stewards Mill Cemetery Sunday, Rev. I. O. Dent and Rev. Simpson conducting services. He is survived by his wife and two sons. One daughter was killed a few months ago when a train struck the Auto in which she was riding in Dallas. Mr. Reed was a good man and a good citizen. He was of a quite orderly disposition and highly respected by all who knew him. His death was a great shock to his family and friends.
