Freestone County, Texas Obits Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 15, 2003 Emily (Burns) Rhoten Emily Rhoten, 84, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Danny Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Rhoten was born April 28, 1919, in Freestone County to Johnnie Burns and Arrie Missouri Slaughter Little. She married Rex Rhoten in June 1967 in Borger. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex in October 2000; a daughter, Vicki Gray in August 2003; her father in August 1946; and her mother in February 1950. Survivors include a son, Gary Temple of Reno, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Carol Petty of Borger; a sister, Irene West of Gorman; four brothers, Bennie Little of Jacksboro, J.L. Little of Amarillo, Edwin Little of Weatherford and Paul Edward Little of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother-in-law and wife, June, of Fritch; two sisters-in-law, Nova Little of Pampa and Dale Little of Graham; two grandchildren, Dena Ware of Burleson and David Gray of Amarillo; two stepgrandchildren, Craig Petty and Cheryl Herdijurgen; six great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews and precious friends in Fritch, Borger and Amarillo.
