Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mr. Edward Edell Ridge Edward Edell Ridge, 89, of Wortham, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Fairfield. Visitation was held Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Capps Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Capps Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ed Ridge officiating. Interment followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Pete Ridge, Steven Morgan, Michael Ridge, Jeff Morgan, Mike Haggard and Ricky Ridge. Mr. Ridge was born December 1, 1924 in Freestone County to parents Hardy and Mary Chapman Ridge. On November 20, 1944 he married Rosia Crook in Fairfield and had celebrated 69 years of marriage. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Freestone County as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Kirvin Baptist Church. Mr. Ridge loved the Lord and his family. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, daddy, papa, great-grandpa and great-great- grandpa. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Rosia; two children, Bettie Morgan and husband Wayne of Madisonville; Edward (Bub) Ridge and wife Linda of Fairfield; one brother, J. R. Ridge and wife Sue of Wortham; sister-in-law, Hazel Grace; five grandchildren, Judy Haggard and husband Mike, James (Pete) Ridge and wife Paige, Michael Ridge and wife Kelly, Steven Morgan and wife Kacie, Jeff Morgan and wife Diana; ten great-grandchildren, Caston Haggard, Caylor Haggard, Steven Morgan, Jr., Justin Morgan, Baylei Morgan, Tanner Morgan, Kale Ridge, Kanyon Ridge, Austin Ridge, Addison Ridge; five great-great-grandchildren, Lane, Luke, Addison, Brinkley and Ruston; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Mae Ward. Capps Memorial Chapel conducted funeral arrangements for the family.
