RIFE

MR. MORRIS ADDISON RIFE, age 80, of Crockett, passed away Thursday, January
23, 2003. "M.A." was born in Teague on May 17, 1922, to Era and John K. Rife. 
He served for 3 1/2 years in the 33rd Naval Construction Battalion in the 
South Pacific during WW II. Upon his return he married Lois June Skinner in 
1945. M.A. operated M.A. Rife Construction Company from 1958 to 1981; during 
that time he built over 200 churches and schools. His wife June preceded in 
death. M. A. is survived by his daughter Pamela Ainsworth and husband, Joe of
Crockett; son Paul Rife and wife Gerry of Houston; daughter Pati Taylor and 
husband Tim of Friendswood; 6 grandchildren Paige Ainsworth of Kansas City, 
KS; Jason Ainsworth and wife Johanna of Plano; Philip Rife, Elissa Rife, and 
Lauren Rife of Houston; Andy Taylor of Friendswood; and 4 great grandchildren, 
Parker, Nicholas, Justin, and Caleb; and brother John Rife of Houston. "Papaw" 
will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. A memorial service 
will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003 at First Presbyterian 
Church of Crockett. Graveside service immediately following at Union Cemetery 
in Freestone.
