Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper January 29, 2009 Liz Rife LIZ RIFE Funeral services were held last weekend for Liz Rife, 81, of Teague who died Tuesday, Jan. 20. Mrs. Rife was born and raised in Georgia. In 1971, she moved with her family to Teague. She worked at Circle Hardware in Teague for several years. Mrs. Rife was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time in her yard. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Teague. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague with Rev. Jeff Powers officiating. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery near Teague. Mrs. Rife is survived by her sons, William C. Rife and wife Shirley of Houston, Robert W. Rife and wife Kris of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, and Roger D. Rife of Saint Mary's, Georgia; daughters, Laura Dyer of Austin and Susan Rawls of Richland Chambers Lake; eight grandchildren, Michelle Delaney, Meagan Wiggins and husband Adam, Melissa Rife, Nicholas Rife, Austin Rife, Michelle Vogel, Kristi Harris and husband Trent, and Wesley Jones; two great-grandsons, Mason Hoppes and Trace Harris; and sister, Annie Lee Scott of Swainsboro, Georgia. Mrs. Rife was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Rife, and one sister, Mavis Screws. Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
