  Lois Roberts

  Lois Roberts, 96, of Pearland, passed away on May 18, 2016, at her residence. 
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 23, at noon at Union Cemetery in 
Freestone County. Visitation with the family will be held 10-11 a.m. at the funeral 
home.
  Ms. Roberts was born on Feb. 23, 1920, in Freestone County, to Oscar and America 
Jane Eazell Allison. She was a very strong, committed Christian lady. Her family 
was everything to her, and she loved them deeply. All of the children loved going 
to her house, because she was known for her chocolate pies, and they knew that 
there would be a bowl of Hershey’s kisses on the table. She was an avid reader 
and quilter, and had a talent for raising beautiful flowers.
  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben L. Roberts; son, Howard Roberts; 
great-grandson, Devon Taylor Collins; parents, Oscar and America Jane Allison; 
and siblings, Arnold Allison, Oscar Allison, Callie Ferguson and Caluph Allison.
  Ms. Roberts has 50 direct descendants, including her children, Ben A. Roberts, 
of Casa Grande, Ariz., Connie Blackmon, of Houston, and Charles Roberts, of 
Pearland; 10 grandchildren; 36 great- and great-great-grandchildren, and numerous 
nieces and nephews from the Teague, Waco and Houston areas.
