Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Patricia Ann Robertson Patricia Ann Robertson (lovingly known by all as Miss Pat) passed away at the age of 91 on April 12, 2025. She was born to Condia and Dessie Robertson on December 27, 1933 in Fairfield, TX. Miss Pat lived a lifetime of service to her Freestone County community, but as a teenager, she once dreamed of leaving and traveling the world. After graduating Fairfield High School in 1952, she got a “temporary” job at the hospital where her mother nursed. Mrs. Dessie was her teacher and mentor in the days when you could get “on the job” training. After two years there she worked for a dentist, Dr. McIlveen. Martha Ruth, her sister, encouraged her to go to college, but Miss Pat was happy and content to stay and work with wonderful doctors, get to know many people, serve at First Baptist Church, teach first grade Sunday school, and live with her parents. In 1958 she began working for Dr. J.D. Crossno and Dr. J.H. Keller. Her work at the clinic with Dr. Keller continued for 52 years, serving third and fourth generations of families. If you had the privilege of knowing them, then you know that they could just about read each other’s minds and even developed their own sign language to save time! Miss Pat retired in 2010, but continued to be very active in Fairfield: attending church, civic activities, weddings, funerals, visiting all around town, and spending time with Martha and many special families who called her their own. She also got her wish during those years to travel all over the United States on many adventures with Malcolm & Kaye Wood, her sister Martha and Robert and Kathleen Castleberry. In 2020, Miss Pat was presented the Lifetime Legacy Award by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce for her long and unwavering nursing care of the community and surrounding counties. That legacy lives on in all of those she impacted with her care and kindness. Miss Pat was a member of First Baptist Church, Fairfield where she decided to follow Jesus Christ at the age of 11. She was the longest standing member of her church until her death. Miss Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles D. Robertson. She is survived by her sister, Martha Ruth Parrish and a host of friends. Miss Pat sometimes referred to herself as an “unclaimed treasure” since she never married. However, she was truly claimed and loved by her Savior, her wonderful town and her dear friends Kaye Wood, Linda Emmons, Dickie & Mary Hill, and Sissy Awalt. She also dearly loved her “kids” Robert Wood, Helyn Kaye & Sheldon Williams, Julee Emmons and Andy Emmons, and her special “grands” Anna Kaye (Williams) Crow and Drew Williams.
