Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [This is Evaline Dunbar, wife of Abe "Tex" Robertson b 21 Feb 1849.] Fairfield Recorder - 1884 DIED At her residence, 12 miles south of Fairfield, November 24, 1884, Mrs. Eva Robertson, the wife of Mr. Tex Robertson in the 35th year of her age. Again we are called up to chronicle the death of ??? lady ??? spent on being daughter of our ???, Mr. J. D. Dunbar. She leaves a large circle of friends and kinspeople to mourn her loss. The summons of death, even under the most favored circumstances, is painful to those who are called upon to give up those they love; but when, like in this case, a husband is called upon to give up the companion of his youth, the mother of his children, when little ones, with no knowledge of the vicissitudes of life or its sinful surroundings, are called upon to give up their mother - their best earthly friend - she who gave them being, who noted their first smile and prattle and taught them in their infant toddle, whose heart was in sympathy with their very being, their welfare and their happiness - how inexpressibly sad is the loss. We tender to the bereaved ones our deepest sympathy, and commend them to the fatherly care of an all wise God, Whose watchful eye is over them and us, and will cause all things to work together for good to those that love and fear Him. May His grace sustain the father, and direct him to rear aright and in the fear of the Lord these dear little ones, and bring them as sheaves ready for the harvest, be the garner of eternal life. D.
