Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle Feb. 25, 2010 issue VIRGINIA NELL ROBINSON Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Nell Robinson, 88, of Mexia were held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia, Texas, with Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Interment was at Mexia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nelson Robinson, Rick Peeples, Dion Looney, Chris Tyner, Scott Tyner, Travis Robinson, Harrison Robinson and Brian Riley. Virginia Nell was born on June 25, 1921, in Waco, Texas, to Bert Edward Roberts and Fannie Mabry Roberts, but lived most of her life in Mexia, Texas. Nell was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and an active member of the first United Methodist Church in Mexia, the Mexia Garden Club and the Mexia Academic Sweater Scholarship Fund for many years. Nell married L.N. (Pete) Robinson, Jr. on February 18, 1939, in Mexia and she lived on the family farm in Mexia up until just a few years ago. She passed away on February 21, 2010, in Fairfield, Texas. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband Pete Robinson; her sons John Byron Robinson, and Nelson Edward Robinson; her parents Bert Edward Roberts and Fannie Mabry Roberts; her stepmother Cleo Roberts and her sister Jody Lemke. Nell is survived by her daughter-in-law Trudy Robinson of Arlington, Texas and grandchildren; Nelson Robinson, Ann Peeples and Kendra Riley; her son Robbie Robinson and wife Reda of Buffalo, Texas and grandchildren Rebecca Robinson and Rachel Robinson; her daughter Sally Shelton and husband Randy of Buffalo, Texas and grandchildren Elliott Robinson, Harrison Robinson, Ryan Robinson and Tyler Virginia Robinson; her sister Lorraine Sallee and husband Bill of Waco; and nephews Bill Sallee, Jr., Steve Sallee, Bob Sallee and Rick Sallee; her niece Karen Scheiner and husband Marc of Bonita Springs, Florida; her aunt Belle Thomas and husband Bill of Mexia and eleven great grandchildren.
