Robinson, 89, of Fairfield will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011, at Bonner Cemetery with Bro. John Hopson (Hoppy) McGilvary officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow provided by Fairfield Lodge #103 A.F. & A.M. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Capps Memorial Chapel. Jack was born July 14, 1922, in the Stewards Mill Community to parents, Charles Bonner Robinson and Clara Weaver Robinson. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and in July of 1940 married Jo Owens. In June of 1944 Jack was inducted into the U.S. Army and saw combat in Europe with Co. A, 52nd Armored Infantry Battalion that was attached to the 9th Armored Division. He was wounded in combat on March 9, 1945 in Germany and received the Purple Heart. Jack was retired from the banking business and had been employed for several banks in Fairfield that ultimately became Wells Fargo. Jack was a long time member and Past Master of Fairfield Lodge #103 A.F. & A.M. He recently received his 60 year membership pin in a ceremony at Fairfield Nursing and Rehab Center. He was also a long time member of Fairfield Harmony Presbyterian Church and the Wilbur H. Bailey Post #5872 VFW of Fairfield. He went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 14, 2011, from Fairfield. In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by a brother Weaver Robinson; a sister, Carolyn Whatley and a grandson, Tommy Robinson, Jr. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jo of Fairfield, two children, Tommy Robinson and wife Patricia of Fairfield; Linda Carroll and husband Donald of Streetman; three grandchildren, Amy Carroll Farrar; Penny Robinson Meredith; Bret Carroll; six great-grandchildren, Collin Puckett; Keil Meredith; Cade Carroll; Jake Farrar; Jordan Farrar; Josh Farrar.
