Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Norman Dale Rockey, Jr. 11/9/1957-02/10/2015 Norman Dale Rockey, Jr., 57 of Mexia passed away February 10, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Blair- Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Justin Colquette and Chaplain Karen Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Norman “Rockey” was born November 9, 1957 in Lamesa, Texas to Norman Dale Rockey, Sr. and Angelita Rodriquez Rockey. He retired from the Mexia State Supported Living Center after a number of years; he was in the wheelchair maintenance department. Rockey’s love for his family was very evident in his life. After his father passed away, he became a substitute father to his younger siblings and someone his mother could depend on for help. He enjoyed fishing and helping people. He attended the First Baptist Church in Wortham. He was preceded in death by his parents; his close companion, Nelda Hallmark; brother, Ricky; sister, Laura Ann Rockey; Clinton Hallmark, whom he loved as a son; and brother-in-law, Wesley Dabney. Rockey is survived by four sisters, Mary Jane Northcutt and husband, Johnny of Prairie Hill, Sue Ellen Rockey of Corsicana, Rosa Dabney of Mexia and Betty Clakley of Kirvin; those he considered his children, Donna Duckworth and husband, Cloyd of Corsicana and Taloa Willis of Mexia; those he considered his grandchildren, Jeffery Willis, Corey Wedgman, Candice Hallmark and Clinton Alan Hallmark; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jory Walpole, Cody Rockey, Samson Clakley, Michael Duke, Shane Northcutt, Duane Beard and Shad McCord.
