Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Charlotte Ann Irwin Roppolo Charlotte Ann was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Archie Irwin. The family moved to Marlin where Charlotte graduated from Marlin High School in 1963. She continued her education at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a B.S. in education from the University of North Texas. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Mesquite, Texas, in 1967. She married Joe Roppolo on June 29, 1968. After a period as a stay-at-home mom, she resumed teaching at Marlin Elementary School from 1988 to1995. From 1995 to 1997, she worked as curriculum coordinator for the Heart of Texas Tech Prep Consortium at McLennan Community College in Waco. Most recently, Charlotte taught in the cognitive intervention program at the William P. Hobby Unit in Marlin. Over the years, Charlotte participated in many civic organizations, including the United Fund of Falls County, the St. John's Episcopal School Board, the Samaritan House of Falls County and the Falls County Commission on Drug Abuse Education. Charlotte also led a women's Bible study in her home for many years, producing and strengthening many great friendships and creating some of her dearest memories. Charlotte's children, grandchildren, family and friends were truly her greatest joy. She never met a stranger, and her storytelling, creativity, and artistic skills blessed everyone that knew her. She loved art, reading, writing, and learning. Her faith in the Lord shone for all to see in her words and her deeds. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Joe Roppolo, of Marlin; children, Gina Pasisis and husband, Tom, of Inverness, Ill., Joseph Nick Roppolo and wife, Sunni, of Fort Worth, and Amanda Smith and husband, Keith, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Tommy and Caroline Pasisis, of Inverness, Ill., and Joe and Jacob Roppolo, of Fort Worth; dear friend and sister, Helen Sehon and husband, Judge Tom Sehon, of Marlin.
