Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - Feb 4, 2010 issue ROYELL ROSS Funeral services for Royell Ross were held on Friday, January 29, 2010, at True Lee Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Reverend Donald R. Parish, Jr., officiated and Pastor Donald R. Parish, Sr., was the eulogist. Interment followed the services at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Royell Ross was born on September 17, 1930, to Emery and Aretha Ross. He attended and graduated from Furney Richardson High School in Teague, Texas in 1050. Royell accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined the Titus Chapel United Methodist Church. He united in holy matrimony with Tennie Morgan on October 13, 1956. They were married for 53 years and had five children. Royell was employed and retired from Dresser Industry, where he worked as a machine operator. He later worked as a self-employed contractor. Royell united with the True Lee Missionary Baptist Church after he began his family. Brother Ross was fervent in his zeal to ensure that his family was reared with a Christian foundation. Brother Ross was ordained as deacon of True Lee MBC in 1974 and he continued to serve in that capacity until his death. Brother Royell Ross departed this life on January 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his mother Aretha Ross. Royell leaves to cherish his memory his wife Tennie Ross; his father Emery Ross; his sons Roy Ross and wife Barbara, Dwight Ross and wife Genean, Dewayne Ross, Rayford Ross and wife Pamela; his daughter Tena Adkins and husband Christopher; his grandsons Travis Shelby, Dwight Ross, Jr., Christopher Adkins II, Ross Adkins, Payton Ross; his granddaughters Tumeka Shelby, Cutina Shelby, Shayla Ross, Delaina Ross, Rayna Ross, Christena Adkins; nine great grandchildren; his brothers Robert Earl Ross, William Ross, Scip Ross; his sisters Eleanor Jones, Patricia Smith, Barbara Heggins and a host of other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers were Michael Bostic, Antonio Heggins, Aaron Love, Edward Love, Theodore Phillips, Travis Shelby, James Herbert Wadley, and Rodney Wadley. Honorary pallbearers were William Ross, Robert Earl Ross, Scip Ross, Ezell Holley, James Riley Morgan, and Carl Morgan. Services were entrusted to Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. of Dallas.
