Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Emery Ross November 8, 1909 - October 10, 2013 Emery Ross was the first child born to Scipio Ross and Beatrice Robinson Ross on November 8, 1909 in Freestone County, Texas. He grew up in Freestone and Limestone Counties and attended public schools there. Mr. Ross was baptized in the Gibson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Mexia, Texas. He married Areatha Hollie in Freestone County and seven children were born to this union. Emery was a farmer, he worked for the Texas Highway Department, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, Teague Brick and Tile Company, Magnum Radiator Company in Dallas, Teague I.S.D., and the City of Teague. Mr. Ross was on the Trustee and Steward Board's at Gibson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church and was a Member of The Grand Order of Help. He was also the Trustee of the Furney Richardson Community Center. Emery enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, baseball, watching and attending the Texas Rangers' games.
