Rites Sunday For Mrs. Martha Ross 

  Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 8, at 1:30 in the Grove Island 
A.M.E. church for Mrs. Martha Ross, 78, who died at her home on Highway 84
near Mexia Thursday. 
  The Rev. C. C. Collins, pastor of Union Primitive Baptist church, will conduct 
the services. 
  Born in Mississippi in 1880, the deceased had lived for many years in the 
Grove Island community and in Mexia. She was a member of the Union Primitive 
Baptist church. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mamie Minners of Oklahoma City, 
Oklahoma; a brother, Lynch Chandler of Houston; two granddaughters, Mrs. A. C. 
Kelley of Houston and Mrs. Myrtle Harris of Mexia, and five great-grandchildren. 
Dorsey - Keatts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in 
the Grove Island Cemetery.
