Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [Porter Funeral Home] Beatrice Lansford Rosser Beatrice Lansford Rosser, 92, formerly of Fairfield passed away April 19, 2011 at a Waco nursing facility. Services will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Wortham, Texas at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jay Fraze officiating. Burial will follow at Wortham Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at Porter Chapel in Wortham. Mrs. Rosser was born January 26, 1919 to Nathaniel and Lillie Chapman Lansford. She married Winfred Benjamin Rosser on June 20, 1948. They were married for 29 years before his death on July 14, 1977. Mrs. Rosser was a 60 year member of Kirvin United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer for many of those years. She was a life-long resident of Freestone County. She was known throughout the family as a wonderful cook and gardener. She was happiest when working in her yard or garden and was always sharing her produce with others. Mrs. Rosser was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister Alice Ryno and one brother Thomas Lansford. She is survived by her son Jimmie Rosser and wife Melisa of Waco, two granddaughters Lindsey Grace and husband Bradley of Houston, and Jamie Rosser of Round Rock and fiancé Ruben Hernandez of San Antonio, two great- granddaughters Emily and Katherine Grace of Houston, one sister Lillie Bonner and Husband Joel of Fairfield, one sister-in-law Maurine Baty of Mesquite, one brother-in-law Morris Rosser and wife Barbara of Spearman, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be her family members. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wortham Cemetery Association or the charity of your choice. The family would like to express appreciation to Dr. Seigmund Kreis and staff, the staff of Regent Care, Blue Bonnet Hospice, and Mr. Fleet Van Riper for his weekly visits and her beloved roommate, Mrs. Lillian Harlan.
