Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper January 15, 2009 Jose Angel Salinas, Sr. Funeral services were held last week for Jose Angel Salinas, Sr., 66, of Teague who died Jan. 6 in Tyler. Mr. Salinas had lived in Freestone county since 1981. He worked as a construction worker and was employed for several years at the Utley Feed Store in Fairfield. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery with Ricky Villa officiating. Mr. Salinas is survived by sons, Jose Angel Salinas, Jr. and wife Yolanda of Palestine, Horacio Salinas of Van, Everett Salinas and wife Michele of Azle, Arturo Salinas of Palestine, Roy Salinas of Azle, and Rudy Salinas of Teague; daughters, Patricia Portillo of Van and Joanna Quinonez and husband Miguel of Van; 13 grandchildren, Andy, Adrian and Alex Salinas, Eric, Joel, Jalene and Aron Portillo, E.J. and Madison Salinas, Joey Salinas, Iriz , Adolfo and Andres Quinonez; brothers, Juan Gonzales of Del Rio and Pedro Salinas of Dublin; and sisters, Noemi Rosales of Dublin and Lupina Reyes of Del Rio. He was preceded in death by his wife Irma Salinas. Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
