Rev. Roye B. Sample

Funeral services for the Rev. Roye B. Sample, 60, of Teague, will be conducted
Monday morning, Dec. 29, at 11 o'clock in First Baptist Church, 209 North 6th
Street in Teague. Officiating will be the Rev. Wendell Blair of New True Vine
Holiness Baptist Church of Dallas. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery-Teague,
with ministers serving as pallbearers. Moore's Angelic Funeral Home of Teague
is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Sample, who served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1967, was honorably
discharged, and at the time of his death was serving as pastor of Mount Zion
Missionary Baptist Church of Reagan.

A former resident of Waxahachie and Dallas, Rev. Sample worked as a
cross-country truck driver and a Missionary Baptist preacher. He was born at
Waxahachie on July 5, 1943, and died Sunday in Parkview Regional Hospital.

Rev. Sample was a former Moderator of the Lebanon District Association, and
held former pastorates at Majorie Avenue Baptist Church of Dallas; the True
Unity Baptist Church of Dallas; Antioch Baptist Church of Mexia, and Grayson
Chapel Baptist Church of Teague.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Sample of Teague; and his children - Roy Britt
Sample and wife Mia of Mesquite, Kevin Sample of Hebbronville, Latrenda Sample
of DeSoto, Eunice Sample of Dallas, and Mia Shed and husband Marcus of Dallas.
