Carmie Sartor

Graveside services for Mrs. Carmie Sartor were held on Monday, February 28, 
2011, at 2:00p.m. at Union Cemetery near Freestone. Bro. Ken Henbest officiated.

Mrs. Sartor passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011, in the Teague Nursing 
Home. She was born on April 5, 1919 in Freestone, one of ten children of 
William & Lula Beene, and lived in Freestone County & the Teague area all of 
her life. She married James Henry Sartor, Sr. and shared over thirty-seven 
years together until being separated by his death in 1973. Mrs. Sartor loved 
to paint and sew and enjoyed going dancing. Mrs. Sartor was a Baptist by faith.
She is survived by one son, James Henry Sartor, Jr. & wife Gwynne of Teague;
two granddaughters, Crista Brooner & husband Todd of Colorado and Shae Sartor
of Teague; one grandson, James Ryan Sartor & wife Deanna of Colorado; six
great-grandchildren, Nathan Brooner, Christopher Brooner, Erick Brooner, 
Stryder Sartor, Grace Sartor, and Garrett Sartor; two sisters, May Ward of 
Wortham and Marilyn Finley of Waco; one brother, William Franklin Beene of 
Wortham; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Sartor 
was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Sartor Sr.; and three
sisters, Mary Etta Hearn, Clara Eu Joy Cawthorn, and Evelyn Oliver.

CARMIE BEENE SARTOR

Graveside services were held Monday at Union Cemetery near Freestone for Carmie Beene 
Sartor, 91, of Teague who died last Friday in the Teague Nursing Home.

Mrs. Sartor was born April 5, 1919 in Freestone, one of ten children of William and 
Lula Beene.

She lived in Freestone county and the Teague area all of her life.

Mrs. Sartor married James Henry Sarter, Sr. and shared more than 37 years with him 
before his death in 1973.

She enjoyed painting, sewing, and going dancing and she was a Baptist by faith.

Mrs. Sartor was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters Mary Etta Hearn,
Clara Eu Joy Cawthorn and Evelyn Oliver.

She is survived by son James Henry Sarter, Jr. and wife Gwynne of Teague; 
granddaughters Crista Brooner and husband Todd of CO and Shae Sartor of Teague; 
grandson James Ryan Sarter and wife Deanna of CO; greatgrandchildren Nathan Brooner, 
Christopher Brooner, Erick Brooner, Stryder Sartor, Grace Sartor, and Garrett Sartor;
sisters May Ward of Wortham and Marilyn Finley of Waco; brother William Franklin Beene
of Wortham; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
