Freestone County, Texas Obits William (Bill) Savage (January 10, 1931 - January 26, 2007) Funeral services for Mr. William (Bill) Savage of Teague were held Monday, January 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Jack Comer officiated. Interment followed the service at Salem Cemetery. Mr. Savage passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born and raised in Teague. Mr. Savage served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a mechanic for the railroad in Teague for many years before retiring. He loved to hunt & fish and especially loved to spend time with his dogs. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-one years, Happy Savage of Teague; two daughters, Jay Vickers & husband Jimmy of Longview and Mandi Ivy & husband Keith of Tyler; one son, Joe Savage & wife Trudy of Taylor; four grandsons, Matt Maisen of Houston, J.D. Vickers of Longview, Taylor Savage of Taylor, and Sam Ivy of Tyler; four granddaughters, Jamie Vickers of Longview, Sydney Savage of Taylor, Austyn Savage of Taylor, and Emily Ivy of Tyler; one sister, Tommie Bloxom & husband Dan of Fairfield; one nephew, Mack Bloxom of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward & Gladys Marie Savage.
