Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder June 15, 2007 issue Juanita S. Schultz Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 7 in New Mexico for Juanita S. Schultz, who died Tuesday, June 5 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. Mrs. Schultz was born in Pendleton and was a graduate of Troy High School. She served in the army during World War II, having worked as an aircraft factory in Waco before becoming a nurse in the army. She met her husband at the military hospital in Ft. Bliss when he returned from his war service. They married May 14, 1946 and lived in Artesia, New Mexico, where she remained until 1978, then lived in Temple before moving to Teague in 1994. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Artesia from 1950-1978, and was an active member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague, where she was a Sunday school teacher until just months before her death. She was active in the WMA. Services were conducted at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia, New Mexico, with Bro. Brock Sanders officiating. A memorial service was held Sunday, June 10 at 3 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague, with Bro. Steve Cowart and Bro. Gary House officiating. Mrs. Schultz is survived by her daughter, Lola N. Myers of Teague; her son, Frank Schultz and wife Diane of Arlington; grandsons Brett Myers and wife LauraLee and Andy Myers and wife Kayse of Teague; Three great-grandchildren, Layne Grayson Myers, Lauren Gabrielle Myers and Andrew Cale Myers, all of Teague; three brothers, James Southerland of Mexia, Jesse Southerland and wife Lena of Lake Jackson, and Dell Southerland of Temple; and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Schultz was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. Schultz; and two grandsons, Jay Frank Schultz and Justin Cale Shultz.
