Tressie S. Scott

Tressie S. Scott, 82, of Oakwood, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 in 
Palestine. Services will be under the direction of Forest Hill Funeral Home – 
South in Memphis, TN. Local arrangements are by Capps Memorial Chapel of 
Fairfield, TX.

Mrs. Scott was born May 5, 1930 in Saulsbury, TN; to parents Edwin and Tennie 
May Prewitt Shearin. She had been a Freestone County resident since 1990 and was 
a retired supervisor with Bell Telephone. She was a member of Southeast Baptist 
Church in Palestine and a past president to the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post 
3907 in Palestine. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five 
brothers, Joe, Horace, Ed, Ben and Parnel Shearin; two granddaughters, Vickie 
Lynn Scott and Tressie Renee Scott

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Charles Scott, Sr. of Oakwood; a son, 
Charles Scott and wife Terri of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Scott 
of Converse, TX; Eric Jimenez of New Braunfels.
