We extend the bereaved family, in their sore misfortune our profound sympathy. -------------------------------------- Fairfield Recorder - 15 Jul 1898 issue Died - Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Scott, living in the Pyburn neighborhood, had the misfortune to lose on last Thursday evening their oldest child, an interesting boy named Davy, about three years old. He died of congestion after an illness of a few days at the residence of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Carroll in Fairfield. His unexpected death coming as it did almost before the little fellow was recorded as seriously ill was a painful blow to the family, more especially to the bereaved young parents to whom life has now given a sorrow of the heart can never forget but in their dark hour of their grief they have the consolation of knowing their little boy is where sickness, pain and death can reach him no more and safe in arms of the tender Shepard will await the coming of loved ones left behind him.
