Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder December 09, 2007 Theodore L. Secord Funeral services were held recently in Hitchcock for Theodore L. “Ted” Secord, 71, of Fairfield who died Nov. 8 after a short battle with cancer. Mr. Secord was born June 21, 1936, in Nash, Okla., and had lived in Fairfield for 22 years. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University, worked as a computer supervisor with Houston Lighting and Power Company for 36 years and was a Catholic. A musician and vocalist, Mr. Secord played the piano, harmonica and guitar. He shared his talents as a woodworker and handyman with family and in the community and briefly coached Little League baseball. Services were conducted Nov. 13 at Hayes Funeral Home with the Rev. John Kappe officiating. Burial was at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Harris, Cecil Lindsey, Stephen McCauley, David Peavy, Chris Secord and Mark Williams. Honorary pallbearer was Robert Dowdy. Mr. Secord is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosemary Lindsey Secord of Fairfield; a son, Gergory Vernon Secord of Houston; a brother, Kermit Secord and wife Margaret of Arlington; two sisters, Sybil Wasson and husband Don of Ballwin, Mo., and Sylva Williams and husband David of Ames, Iowa; a brother-in- law, Cecil Lindsey and wife Lynette of Santa Fe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Lindsey Secord, and parents Theodore Vernon and Artha V. Murray Secord. Arrangements were made by Hayes Funeral Home.
