Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Lubbock Avalanche-Journa newspaper April 28, 1997 Lucile Selman Services for Lucile Selman, 92, of Lubbock, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne McKay officiating. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Rest Lawn, Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth. Selman died Friday, April 25, 1997, at Methodist Hospital. She was born Jan. 8, 1905, in Freestone County. She married C.F. Selman June 27, 1922, in Limestone County. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church and the church's Women's Missionary Auxiliary. Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Selman and Wanda Lawson, both of Lubbock, and Joyce Cole of Grants, N.M.; three sisters, Bea Vinson of Midland, Grace Bates of Pep, N.M., and Lily Fay ''Babe'' Durst of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Lester Shanks of Sedilia, Mo.; seven grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. The family suggests memorials to Central Baptist Church.
