Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - Dec. 3, 2009 edition LESA SHIVERS Funeral services were held for Lesa (Graham) Shivers on Monday, November 23, 2009, in Henderson, Texas. Brian Taylor, Lesa's son, delivered the eulogy and Reverend Jason Taylor brought a wonderful message. Lesa was born on November 21, 1953, to L.A. and Shirley Graham. She lived in Donie, Texas, during her younger years. She attended grade school and junior high in Donie. She then went to school in Teague where she graduated in 1971. When her children were older, Lesa attended barber and beauty college in Tyler. She graduated from there and owned and operated a barber/beauty shop in Tatum for several years. Lesa attended First Baptist church in Donie. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age. Lesa was a daughter, a wife, a mother and grandmother. Being grandmother was her favorite role. She was a successful businesswoman, working beside her husband and was a great part of their business. In the past year, she and her husband and family attended the Cowboy Church right up the road from their home. They worshipped there and enjoyed the Christian fellowship. Lesa lost her life to a long and painful battle with cancer. Lesa passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009, at her home near Tatum, Texas. Lesa was preceded in death by her daddy L.A. Graham, Jr., her first husband and father of her children, Roy Taylor, her son Brent Taylor and both sets of her grandparents. Lesa is survived by her husband Joey Shivers, her son Brian Taylor and his fiancé Kayla Hicks, her daughter Brandi Roberts and husband Shane, her mother Shirley Graham and her five grandchildren Brent Taylor II, Cheyenne Taylor, Colten Roberts, Quintin Roberts and Peyton Roberts, three aunts Naomi Scott of Teague, Wanda DuBose and Zerline Warren of Ukiah, California and a host of cousins that loved Lesa dearly. Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson was in charge of the arrangements and interment was at Tatum Cemetery.
