Funeral Rites Held for Wortham Leader
       
        Wortham, Texas, May 29 [1941]. Funeral services were held Thursday at the 
Central Presbyterian Church for Roy Simmons, 65, leading merchant and civic leader of 
Wortham, who was injured fatally in an automobile accident Tuesday [May 27]. Rites 
were conducted by the Rev. Marshall Pinkerton and burial was in Wortham Cemetery.
	An elder in Central Presbyterian Church, Mr Simmons had taken a leading part in 
civic, religious and social affairs of the community. Survivors include his wife and two 
sons.
