Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - Jan. 3, 1919 edition W. Mack Sims dies of influenza-pneumonia W. Mack Sims, aged 28 years died at his home in Cotton Gin six miles north of Teague at 5:00 am last Friday of pneumonia following an attack of Spanish influenza. He had been ill only about a week. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.B. Preston Teague and U.J. Hearon of Cotton Gin at the residence Sat. afternoon at 2:00 and interment was in the Cotton Gin cemetery at 3:30. The funeral was largely attended, Mr. Sims having been an exemplary young man and enjoyed considerable popularity in various parts of the county. He was born in 1890 and was married to Miss Nannie Colgin on June 1, 1911, his wife surviving him. Besides his wife he leaves a father and step-mother, Mr. & Mrs. J.H. Sims of Cotton Gin, a half brother, Marion Sims, Cotton Gin, and the following brothers and sisters, Henry Sims, San Angelo, Texas, Guy Sims, San Angelo, Texas, Mrs. Bessie Drake, Cotton Gin, Mrs. Townsend Clark, Teague, Mrs. J.T. Foot, Durant Ok., Mrs. Stella Hearon, Beaumont, Tx.
