Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder May 20, 2010 edition James Sisson Funeral services for Mr. James Sisson, 71, were held Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Rev. Richard Gillet officiated. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation was Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Sisson passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Providence Hospital in Waco. He was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana on September 9, 1938 to Jesse and Josephine Sisson and grew up there. He served in the U.S. Army from October 1959 to June 1964 as a sharpshooter and received a Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Sisson worked as a measurement technician for ENTEX Gas Co. for more than 30 years. He married Elisabeth on October 28, 1996, and shared more than 13 years together. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Sisson is survived by his wife, Elisabeth S. Sisson of Teague; two stepsons, Jurgen Thompson and wife Kim of Lake Mexia and Michael Thompson of Seattle, Washington; Two other stepchildren, Kenneth and Donna and their families; step-granddaughter, Marie and her children and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, David Sisson and wife Jeanette of Houston, and other relatives and friends.
