Thomas Dean Smith


Thomas Dean Smith, 55, of Mexia, went to walk with the Lord on July 8, 2009. 
Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Porter 
Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia with Brother Todd Baze and Reverend Harvey 
Hallmark officiating.  Burial will be at Wortham Cemetery.  Family visitation 
will be Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Thomas was born May 18, 1954 in Mexia, Texas to Hugh and Barbara Smith. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Thomas Smith; paternal 
grandparents, George A. and Willie Estelle Smith and maternal grandparents, 
D.E. and Willie Estelle Woodall.

Thomas is survived by his mother & step-father, Fay and Bob Sykes of Mexia; 
brother and sister-in-law, Joe Dean and Raye Nelle Smith of Ennis; sister and
brother-in-law, Barbara and Eddie Fernlund of Susanville, California; daughter,
Mysti Reneé Smith of Mexia; son and fiancé, Keith Smith and Chassity Moffett 
of Mexia; partner in life, Dixie Moss of Mexia; 2 granddaughters, Kyleigh and 
Kambry; grandson, Andrew “Pud” and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews.

Pallbearers will be Josh Smith, Randy Garner, Shade McCord, James Walker, 
Michael Bell and Ben Garner.  Honorary pallbearers are John Pevehouse, Daniel
Ramirez, Ray Dabney and Ray Smith.
