Dustin Smothermon - 01/17/07

Dustin Smothermon, 23, passed away Jan. 13, 2007. He was born on Feb. 24, 1983
in Fort Worth.

Dustin was a treasure in our lives and he will be greatly missed by all those 
who were blessed in knowing him. He made us laugh and taught us to forge ahead 
through difficulty. He never gave up. Dustin was a proud waiter at Gilberto’s 
Mexican Restaurant in Fairfield and did various construction jobs on the side. 

He operated his own flooring business in Austin. He will always be in our 
thoughts, we love you Dustin.

Services are slated for 2 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel 
with Otis Long officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Franklin Platt, Jordan Hunt, Stephen Platt, Terry Hanna, 
Robert List, William Westmoreland, Mark Reiter and Kenn Watson.

He was preceded in death by his father Stephen Ray Smothermon of Corsicana and
grandfather Donald Wesley Smothermon Sr.

He is survived by his mother Nancy Johnson of Mildred; sisters Erica 
Smothermon and Kayli Smothermon; stepfather David Johnson of Mexia; two 
stepbrothers Justin Johnson and Christopher Johnson also of Mexia; paternal 
grandmother Marylou Smothermon of Grapevine; maternal grandfather and 
grandmother Otis and Beverly Long; two nephews Joshua and Xzavier; nine aunts 
and uncles and 25 cousins.
