Sneed, of Teague, on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas among loving family and devoted friends. Viewing will be Friday, November 7, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe Street, Teague, Texas. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Nemons officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Teague, Texas. Robert E. Sneed was born to the union of Birdia Weathers Coleman and C.B. Sneed on June 18, 1935 in Freestone County, Texas. Robert, known as “Dude” to his family and friends, attended schools in the Freestone County Public School District and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He joined the U.S. Army Signal Corp, where he served faithfully until retiring with the rank of Sergeant. After relocating to New York, Robert held various positions at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Robert was united in holy matrimony to Kaye L. Neal in November 1979. She preceded him in death in May 2006. He retired in 1991 and moved to Texas two years later. He enjoyed ranching as well as playing cards and dominoes with his friends. Robert departed this life on Friday, October 24, 2014. Preceding him in death were: his parents; his brother, Bobby Walter Coleman; his sister, Georgia Coleman; and his wife, Kaye. He leaves to mourn his passing: three stepdaughters: Donna Lafayette and Pamelar James, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Kimberly Vann, Chicago, Illinois; two stepsons, Edgar James Jr. and wife Mary, West Hempstead, New York and Rico Brown, Fort Smith, Arkansas; one grandson, Edgar James III and wife Kali, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Kayla James, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Brittany Brown, Wichita, Kansas; one great-granddaughter, D’Saiya Armington, Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Marshall Lynn Coleman, Teague, Texas; one sister-in- law, Wanda Cole, Fort Smith, Arkansas; one aunt, Helen Redmond, Dallas, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
