Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fort Worth Star-Telegram December 25, 1991; Page: 38;39 Deceased Name: Lloyd Edward Solomon GM employee FORT WORTH - Lloyd Edward Solomon, a retired General Motors employee and owner of a barbecue restaurant, died Saturday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 66. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial park. A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Baker Funeral Home. Mr. Solomon was born in Teague, Freestone County, and lived in Fort Worth since 1946. He was a retired assembly worker at GM and was owner of Lloyd's Barbecue of Teague, a south side eatery and social establishment. He was known for his charitable spirit and generosity in Fort Worth's African-American community and befriended the homeless, hungry and unemployed. Survivors: Wife, Louise Johnson Solomon of Fort Worth; and two sisters, Fessie Stratford of Dallas and Ollie Barefield of Denver.
