TAMMY (TISSY) SPATES

Funeral services were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church, North of 
Teague for Tammy (Tissy) Spates, 41, of Teague who died Jan. 14 at Mexia Manor 
Nursing Home among family and friends.

Interment followed at Sessions Cemetery in Kirvin.

Ms. Spates was born Jan. 5, 1970 as the second child of James Stephen and 
Pauline Cox in Houston.

She grew up and attending public schools in Teague and was employed with 
Girlings Home Health of Teague.

Ms. Spates was preceded in death by her mother and her sister Kim Hicks.

She is survived by her father; son Franklin Branch of Dallas; sister Tyonia 
Spates Wanyoike of Teague, uncles; aunts; nieces; nephews; and other relatives 
and friends.

Pallbearers were Capt. Marlon Taylor, Antoine Wicker, Sr., Nakia Scott, 
Jermaine Taylor, Vincent Mims, David Glover, Howard Harvey, Jeff Coaster, 
Hubert Davis (Junior).

Officiating services were Rev. Larry Rose and Rev. Anthony Nemons.

Making arrangements was Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home of Teague.
