Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Bessie Mae (Minchew) Speed Funeral service were held Wednesday, Jan 7, for Bessie Mae Speed,77 of Fairfield who died Jan,4 at her home. Interment at Lake Chapel Cemetery followed service at First Baptist Church in Fairfield. Mack Roller & Johnny Dammon officiated. Pallbearers were Donny Sartor, William Stark, Bill Ethridge, Joshua Stark, Jodie Sanders & Willie Ward. Mrs. Bessie Speed was born Feb.24,1926 to the late Jewell& Ethel Minchew. She held membership with First Baptist Church and participated in the Ruth Sunday School Class, Keenagersand W.M.U. Her survivors included Daughters, Jeanette Stark and husband Wayne, Patsy Stark, Dixie Watson & husband Bill,Donna Kay Bishop, Carolyn Stark & husband Glen & Mary Stark & husband Kenneth all of Fairfield; daughter-in law Marsha Speed of Fairfield. Sons, Robert Glen Speed & wife Cynthia, Jerry Speed & Johnny Dean Speed all of Fairfield; 13 Grandchildren& 8 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Jewell Fae Rollins of Grandbury, Lola Finley of Del City Okla, Pauline Peruch of Houston, Tommie Kerley of Little Elm,& Delores Barrington Of Rio Vista; brother Johnny Bohannon of Magnolia; sister-in law Ivy Minchew of Denver City. Mrs. Speed was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Robert Speed; Son Bobby Speed & Daughter, Betty Speed. Arrangements were conducted by Capps Memorial Chapel
