The Mexia Weekly Herald (Mexia, Texas) April 25, 1930 Page 4 " George Speight Dies in Teague Failing to recover from an appendictis operation, George W. Speight, 31, died at hospital in Teague just after midnight Friday after an illness of about a week. Mr. Speight was a resident of Point Enterprise, was well known throughout this section. Funeral services were being held from the Point Enterprise Baptist church at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. J. E. Gore and Rev. Z. T. Nobles officiated at the ceremonies. Internment was in the Point Enterprise cemetery. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. G. W. Speight and two small children, Marvin and Christine Speight; seven brothers, a sister, and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Speight, all of Point Enterprise."
