In 1877, while a student at Erskine College, Due West, South Carolina, when a young lady of seventeen, having been born May 23, 1860, Sallie Hope Robinson surrendered his life to Christ.... ...On December 30, 1883 she was married to Mr. O. Y. Bonner and thus established a home in that faith. To this union was born ten children, all of whom survive but one daughter who died in infancy, Jim Billie, Bettie, Paul, Tom, John L., Joel, Hunter, Oliver, and Sneed. Y. Bonner, aged 75, died at her home in Fairfield at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial was in the Bonner graveyard north of Steward Mill, Wednesday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering from many sections of the state. The Rev. J. W. Simpson conducted the services. Mrs. Bonner was born in Freestone county and her family was one of the earliest to settle here. She is survived by one brother, John L. Robinson, near Streetman, and the following children: J. B. Bonner of Steward Mill, Miss Bettie Bonner of Fairfield, Paul Bonner of Steward Mill; Tom Bonner of Streetman, Joel, Hunter and Sneed Bonner of Fairfield, and a large number of grandchildren and other relatives."
