Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder Freddie Stacks Funeral services were held Monday for Freddie Stacks, 78, of Teague who died Saturday, April 26. Mrs. Stacks was born to Otto and Meta Haverland on Sept. 14, 1929 in Elgin. On Jan. 24, 1947, she married Lester Stacks, Jr. The couple would share over 60 years together. Mrs. Stacks was employed by Teague Independent School District as the Food Service Director. She retired after 22 years of service. Mrs. Stacks was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfield where she played the organ and served on several church boards. She was a generous individual whose cooking abilities were infamous. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Mrs. Stacks is survived by her husband Lester Stacks, Jr. of Teague; children Randy Stacks and wife Linda of Teague, Meda Beaird and husband Steve of New Ulm, David Stacks and wife Jan of Lovelady, and Marda Raley and husband Berry of Crawford; grandchildren Derrick and wife Alicia, Colin and wife Lindy, Steven and wife Sarah, Jared, Walt and wife Amber, Mitch, Katy, Jordan, and Stewart; great grandchildren Grace, Luke, Reese, Braeden and Rylee Jaye; and sisters Margie Schwend and Delores Wenzel, both of Georgetown. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, in care of Kate Folk at 739 Stardust Lane in Fairfield. Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
