Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper April 23, 2009 Mr. Shelby Eugene Steele Memorial services will be held Saturday for Shelby Eugene Steele, 75, of Fairfield who died Friday, April 17, in Waco at Providence Hospital. Mr. Steele was born in McDonough, Georgia on Oct. 9, 1933 to Ferry Cecil Steele and Fannie Lee Elliott. He worked for over 20 years as a sales representative with Nucor Steel before retiring and selling steel independently. Mr. Steel and his wife, Janice, own and operate Cameo's Grooming Boutique in Fairfield. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Fairfield with Rev. Paul Kethley officiating. Following the services, Mr. Steele's ashes will be placed at a family plot in McDonough, Georgia. Mr. Steele is survived by his wife Janice Steele of Fairfield; children, Barry Steele and wife Peggy of Columbus, Mississippi, Katrina Prince and husband Larry of Sparta, North Carolina, Mike Steele and wife Debbie of Fortson, Georgia, Alison Steele of Willis, Robbin Hosea and husband George of Willis, Valerie Clearman and husband Curtis of Brandon, Mississippi, and Cathy D'Arche and husband Doug of Houston; grandchildren, Joshua and Kim Steele, Megan and Christopher Martin, Christopher and Dina Steele, Evan Steele, Grace Steele, Stephanie and John Boyd, Michael and Jodi Steele, Ashley and Chaz Hawthorne, Jessica and Chad Kirk, Kelsie Vanorden, Lindsey Vanorden, Austin, Connor and Mason Hosea, and Timothy Gantenbein and Scarlett Clearman; great grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriella Steele, Aiden Martin, Ava Steele, Drake and Amanda Boyd, Mathew Steele, William Hunter Hawthorne, Baileigh and Emily Kirk, Ali Vanorden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferry Cecil and Fannie Lee Steele; and brother Daniel Steele. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at www.americanheart. org.
