Freestone County had no better citizen and there are hundreds that will be pained to learn of his death --Corsicana Sunlight Nov. 20 Mr. Steen had been unfortunate during in the last few months. A few months ago he accidentally fell while in the act of sawing a log while assisted by others and broke one of his legs. This caused him serious pain and trouble for several months. He further became the victim of further complications for the treatment of which he had been taken to the Physicians and Surgeons Hospital in Corsicana about two months ago. The son Sam E. had been there with the father for the past month in constant watch over him. Both the deceased and his son reside in what is known as the Ward Prairie community near Young. Coupled with the misfortunes of a family is the fact Mrs. F.W. Bobbit, daughter of the deceased was the victim of an automobile accident recently. The car carelessly driven ran over her while she was walking across a street in Houston where she resided and was very seriously injured. It was thought for a time she would not recover. Several bones of the lower limbs were crushed. She is improving now but was not able to be with her father. The family has many friends in this county who deeply sympathize with them in their misfortunes.
