Alyce Fern (Taylor) Steffey

Alyce Fern Steffey, 72, of Palestine passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at
Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Capps Memorial Chapel with Monsignor
Samuel Metzger of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Fairfield officiating.
Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin.

Pallbearers will be Larry Shuttlesworth, Jason Avila, Chuck Salter, Rick
Salter, Julian Avila, John Welch and Miguel Williams.

Mrs. Steffey was born Aug. 30, 1928 in Kirvin. She was a homemaker and a life
member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Fairfield. She was a member of Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Palestine.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold Steffey of Palestine; daughter, Brenda
C. Avila of Melbourne, Fla.; sons, Larry Shuttlesworth of Waco and Tony Steffey
of Rusk; grandchildren, Michael Engle, Brandy Kramolis and Jason Avila;
great-grandchildren, Chloe Engle and Reagen Nicole Kramolis; brother, Bud
Taylor of Eastland; and sisters, Lavena Steward of Gatesville and Evelyn Mathis
of New Braunfels.
