Coleman Sumuel Sr. 

ODESSA - Coleman Sumuel Sr., 85, a retired school guard for the Ector County
Independent School District, died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997, at New Horizon Nursing
Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Baptist Church with
the Rev. G.T. Garnett officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. 

He was born in Wortham and was a resident of Odessa. He was a member of St.
Matthews Baptist Church. 

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Mertha Marie Sumuel of Los Angeles, Ca., Estella Pauline
Willard, Frankie Lean Lewis, Bertha Mae Sumuel and Lora Faye Davis, all of
Odessa; brother, Ozell Lee Simmons of Dallas; sisters, Rosie Lean Quarrels of
Wortham and Frankie Lee Carter of Plainview; 12 grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.
